We're docked in Paris! A day of touring with Avalon! June 26, 2015

It's our last day of our river cruise, and boy have we seen and done so much!  Here we are, back in Paris, where we began! I love that Avalon includes a full day here as part of the itinerary.  This is great for those who can't build an extra day or two into the trip at the beginning or the end of their vacation. While, sure you could spend days here and not even touch the surface of this city, at least with a full day of touring with the cruise line, you see the highlights! We had a full day in store for us today, as we pretty much did every day! Today there were quite a few options to choose from, which was great. In the morning, we could choose either a Walking Tour of Paris, or a panoramic bus tour with a few photo stops. This gave everyone on board an option, depending on just how active they wanted to be. And of course, you could just decide to go off on your own too if that's what you would like!  Carol and I decided on the Walking Tour of Pa...

Touring Rouen, France part 3 - Avalon River Cruise, June 24, 2015

After our morning guided tour, we went back to our ship for lunch, which was just a short walk away. This was yet another thing that I was coming to really enjoy about river cruising....we were docked right up at the town.  We'd walk into town for the morning, go back and have lunch, and then today for example, we could head back into town and have the rest of the day free to just explore!  It was such a fantastic way to have the best of both worlds. The guided walking tour to become familiar with the area, just a bit, and then we got to head out on our own and come and go as we pleased! Since today is a day of sharing ship photos, here are some of the dining area...today there was an option for lunch. We could either eat in the dining room as usual, or a special Grill Lunch was being offered up on the Sky Deck!
