Our Last Hurrah!!! Munich.....June 9, 2016 - Day 15, cont'd

By the time we finished up our tours, the sun had come out and the day was now beautiful! On the way back to the hotel, Birgit gave us a quick guided drive through some of the sites in Munich and some suggestions on where to come back to for dinner for our last night.  Unfortunately, at this point, I really couldn't tell you what these monuments or buildings are, but I do know she did a good job of explaining what we saw at the time!

Since Alycen's mom, Katie, had stayed back at the hotel today, Birgit offered to go back and pick her up for us, and then take us all back into the City Center so we wouldn't have to take the train or a taxi. She truly was a fantastic guide!

We walked around the Marienplatz, which is the main square in the city.

Some street musicians...for anyone paying attention....do they look familiar at all?   Here we are in Munich....

And is this them back in Bratislava? Hmmmm...maybe?

Anyway, back to the story!

After the plaza, we walked along to a food market area, which was pretty cool!

And then we made our way to our final stop, when in Germany, you must go to a Brauhaus! We chose the Hofbrauhaus, which may be the most well known and for good reason! It is three floors and it dates back to the 16th century!  There really couldn't have been a better ending to our trip. It was truly a festive celebration here!

Now that's a pretzel....and a beer!

Everything was delicious!

Katie and Alycen were the two best travel mates Alex and I could have asked for! We had such a great time sharing our adventures with them!

But, as always, all great adventures must come to an end.

Flying into Philadelphia, home sweet home!

I hope there are still some readers following along! Sharing this adventure took far too long! More than a year!  But for those who kept reading, some final thoughts - it was fantastic to go on a river cruise with Alex. I think both of us were wondering how he would like a river cruise, as typically the demographic is an older crowd. He loved it. We also were able to visit Salzburg before the cruise, as well as spend some extra days in Budapest, and then the extra time in Germany afterward. All of that was icing on the cake.

I have quite a few more of our adventures to share! So stay tuned!
