We stopped along the coast to see if we could spot any turtles. It was the turtle hatching season. We didn't see any but we did see many nest markings. They have volunteers who mark the nests and go out to try to protect the turtles.
Our next stop was a Tequila Tasting. We thought it would be similar to the rum tasting in Roatan, but this was truly a lesson in tequila! It was really interesting!
While they don't actually make any tequila at this spot, they had a demonstration on how tequila is made.
Next up another beautiful photo spot, although these two definitely didn't think they should be part of the photo!
Next we went to the Punta Sur Eco Reserve. This is definitely a hidden gem in Cozumel!
Some of the mangroves were destroyed in a hurricane, so these little "islands" are where they are trying to promote regrowth. You can see the new mangroves growing on top of this one.
From here we went to the lighthouse
The kids and Keith climbed up and my parents and I hung out below
Some views from above!
And then we went to the beach in the park. It was probably one of the most beautiful beaches we've been to! There was no seaweed, which is a huge issue right now, especially in Mexico, and the water was an amazing color of blue! We also had a great lunch right there.
The dark color is coral, not seaweed - Alex went snorkeling out there most of the time we were here.
Ready to head back to port!
And yes, she did buy something, of course!
After the big shopping extravaganza we had what I would say was our favorite dinner on board, at 150 Central Park. This is my Cucumber Basil Martini being made table side. Our entire meal, as well as the service was wonderful!
It was another great day and we were looking forward to our sea day tomorrow!
